Traditional Vihta treatment

Traditional sauna treatment brings dimensions to the sauna that belong there, but have been forgotten over time.

The key element is the "vihta" or "vasta". In a very relaxing traditional sauna the whole body is treated with a "vihta" made of tree branches from 4 - 6 different types of wood. A traditional sauna healer also creates an atmosphere in the sauna with sauna songs and spells, which are part of the thousands of years old sauna tradition.

The treatment includes washing the whole body. The price also includes the use of a towel, bathrobe and slippers, snacks and juice/water/tea.

Treatment can be booked in three different places: In Valkeakoski (Valtakatu 19a) in the center of Jämsä (from May 2026 at Talvialantie 1) or in the smoke sauna village in summertime.
