Suction cup massage, or sliding cupping, does not cause any wounds, meaning it is bloodless and painless. Silicone suction cups are slid over oiled skin, and the negative pressure stimulates metabolism. The effect is the opposite of massage. Space is created between the tissues, and blood circulation and tissue fluid circulation are stimulated locally.
Cupping massage relaxes and cleanses the body. It can also help with cellulite, rheumatic complaints, slow metabolism, fluid retention, scar tissue treatment, and conditions such as mouse hand pains or tennis elbow. There are four different sizes of cups, and they are suitable for treating the whole body. Sliding cupping can also be done locally on scars. Many say that it helps with "tightness" and that the scar begins to soften after just a few treatments.
Slide cupping is offered as an additional service to all massages, bone settings, and washes. It stimulates blood circulation and does not take much extra time.
Slide cupping can be done either without a sauna or in combination with sauna treatments.
Head massage is a massage of the hair and scalp area as well as treatment of the face, shoulders, and neck. It is a series of massage movements that treat the shoulders, neck, and scalp effectively but gently.
The head massage is done while the customer is sitting. It takes about 20 minutes. Sauna is nor required but the massage can also be done in connection with a sauna bath.
Extremely pleasant either when cooling off in the washroom or as a cool version while sitting on the sauna benches.
Herbs, salt, honey, or flowers make it unique. Recommended it to be combined with a sitting bath.
See the effects of the treatment ingredients (peat, rose, tar pine, salt honey) under group saunas.
Duration according to your preference, at least 10 min. Also goes well with a head massage.
No sauna required.
Saunas have been proven to promote health by stimulating blood circulation, relaxing muscles, and reducing stress. Regular sauna use can lower blood pressure, improve sleep quality, strengthen immunity, and even reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. It is an effective way to recover from physical exertion. Duration approx. 30 min.
Includes washing products, a linen towel, a sauna robe, and slippers.
The following additional services are only available with a sauna session. So, if you want one of the following treatments, always book this initial warm-up in the sauna as well.
You can buy one or two whisks for your independent individual use in the sauna or to take away for later use. Choose from birch, oak, maple, aspen, alder, rowan, linden, juniper, spruce, or pine.
Includes instructions.
A short whisking session for one person to warm up the body in the heat of the sauna, lasting approximately 10 minutes. Excellent before a massage or bone setting.
Includes 3-5 whisks, which may be made of birch, oak, aspen, alder, rowan, linden, juniper, maple, spruce, or pine.
Can also be done while seated.
Always done in the sauna.
An old-fashioned way of washing the whole body with a whisk. Often done after other sauna treatments. The customer is lying on warm benches and the sauna door is ajar or completely open, in order to have less heat.
This extremely relaxing and pleasant wash is done with a birch whisk. Linden is also suitable if, for example, you are allergic to birch.
The whisk is whipped in a wash basin with a little warm water and bar soap. The soapy water is whipped so that the leaves pour out with foam. Then the whisk is used to gently stroke, press, and rub the entire body. Body is rinsed with water and the other side is washes, too.
This takes about ten minutes. It is done in the sauna.
A mask made from pure therapeutic clay deeply cleanses the skin of the face. Only Finnish clay minerals are used.
Clay works best on normal or oily skin, as its main property is to absorb oil from the skin's surface and prevent minor acne symptoms such as pimples, blackheads, and whiteheads.
If your skin is dry, a clay mask may feel uncomfortable.
It is ideal for use with a sitting bath or as a warm-up.
Duration 10-15 min. It does not add to the time spent in the sauna when done while sitting in the steam room.
The treatment is not suitable without a sauna.
Products available for purchase at the treatment center, mineral powder 18€, clay 20€
Peat treatment stimulates metabolism, firms the skin, and removes waste products with the help of humic and fulvic acids.
The treatment relaxes muscles, relieves pain, and is well suited for treating atopic skin, reducing cellulite, and relieving stress.
Peat can be used as a face mask or to be wrapped on areas requiring treatment, such as tennis elbow.
Peat is also suitable as a local treatment for pregnant women or those suffering from heart and blood pressure disorders.
Duration approx. 20 min.
Not available without sauna.
You can add to a sitting bath fresh or dried herbs, herbal extracts, essential oils, salt, honey, flowers, petals... anything you like, depending on your needs. It particularly activates the center of the body (the pelvic area). It can also be used as an alternating heat bath, in which the water temperature is either raised or lowered during the treatment.
Heat dilates the blood vessels, allowing blood to circulate faster and the body to better remove waste products from the body. However, 15-20 minutes in warm water causes the muscles to tire quickly and prevents them from working efficiently.
Cold treatments, on the other hand, increase muscle performance by an average of 30%. Therefore, after a warm bath or sauna, it is a good idea to take a quick cold shower, which causes a positive reaction in the blood circulation. As a result, the skin begins to redden, the skin temperature rises, and the nerves tingle with new life. An negative reaction may also occur if the skin turns blue, cold waves or tremors occur, the feet or hands are cold, or the head feels strange or dizzy. In such situations, the body should be warmed up again. Cold treatments are not suitable in some illnesses. These include anemia, excessive thinness, nervous disorders, kidney or bladder disorders, stomach ulcers, and heart problems.
Duration 15-20 minutes, depending on the desired treatment effect and herbs.
Either before or after the sauna.
Exfoliation can be done in the heat of the sauna or in the washroom.
It can be applied:
-For the whole body
-Only for the back
-For the feet and hands, or any other part of the body that needs exfoliation.
Exfoliation can be done using either:
-rough exfoliating gloves or
-salt and/or honey.
Sea salt, rock salt, and rose salt are used as salt scrub ingredients.
Essential oils, dried herbs, or other elements such as tar, propolis, or juniper berries can also be added to the salt.
Not available without sauna bathing.
Traditional, extremely relaxing washing while the customer lies on a washing table in the washing room.
Only clean, domestic washing products are used. The customer is always washed on both sides, with light massage.
Finally, the hair is washed and head massage done while the conditioner takes effect.
Duration approx. 10-15 min.
The treatment can also be performed while the customer seated, in which case only the back and hair are washed.
Duration approx. 5-10 min.
Washing cannot be purchased without a sauna session.
For individual treatment, see Foam wash with exfoliation
A massage lasting approx. 30 min, performed on one person at a time in connection with other sauna treatments.
Well suited in connection with a group sauna or as an individual treatment after a foam wash or other sauna treatment.
A short massage can also be given as a bone setting treatment if the problem is minor and has only lasted for a short time.
This massage cannot be purchased without a sauna session.
Floating is a very relaxing additional treatment after a whisking or washing. It is best enjoyed in the warm lake water in summer on the shore of Saunakylä in Jämsä.
The client is supported by a therapist from under their neck and behind their knees, allowing them to relax and surrender to the water and to the hands of the therapist. The client can watch the clouds or keep their eyes closed. True relaxation takes place in both the muscles and the mind.
It is a wonderful experience, especially after a therapeutic whisking.
Floating in natural water in the summer is something that cannot be described in words!
Come and try it out during the Saturday sauna session at Jämsä Saunakylä. This can only be booked directly from Kaisu in advance, as it takes about 10 minutes.
